Like most others, the only reason we stayed at the Pioneer Inn was to catch the ferry to Prince Rupert. That said, there is no reason not to stay in this hotel as it is the closest you can get to the ferry (and that's important at 04.30 in the morning!) and there is quite a nice nature reserve directly... more

I stayed there a couple years back and it was filthy, but I went back because the location is great. When I went in it was clean and the food is delicious. The staff isn't great at english but very pleasant and friendly. The new manager seems to be taking charge and doing a lot of renovations. It's definitely clean... more

Stayed here in July 2005 as it said it was the nearest hotel to the ferry terminal (if you are catching the Inside Passage ferry to Prince Rupert and beyond). Stay away! One big nightmare. Open the room means to awake the rodents and seeing them running through the room. the room was dirty, the fridge didn't smell, but stink after rotten fish, staff was rude and impolite. Moved to another hotel. more
