The Quarterdeck is a good base for Port Hardy and if you need an overnight stay when using the ferry. Check-in/out is efficient and the reception staff are very friendly and really try to help. The rooms are a good size with two double beds, tea/coffee making facilities and there is a good bathroom. The best thing about the rooms... more

This is a great hotel to sleep in! We stayed here last summer after hiking for 10 days in Cape Scott. It was amazing to sleep in a bed and have a shower! The staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was large and the so was the bathroom. This hotel is great for getting your head down,... more

We stayed at the Quarterdeck Inn for two nights; one night at each end of a visit to the Great Bear Lodge. The hotel is in a good location for the town and airport and is very comfortable. The rooms were spacious and clean with a good size bathroom. It has an onsite pub where the food is simple but... more

Basic hotel much used purely as overnight stop for Inside Passage trip. Dont expect anything other than do it yourself breakfast- what was offered is a bag containing very little and nowhere to eat it other than in your room. Had to ask for toast - package loaf provided so we could toast it but no suggestion of anything to... more

This facility is as good as it gets for a basic hotel in Port Hardy.Rooms are clean. It is right at the marina which may be of interest to some.Pub on site.Close to town etc.It is a small town at the end of the Island so service isnt allways the best.It is what it is more

Port Hardy is a relatively small town and this is a small town hotel, however, it frequently sells out due to the people coming in on the ferry so it can charge a price that might be a bit steeper than it would be otherwise. For two nights for two people (one room) we paid a total of $336.40 (CD),... more

The Quarterdeck Inn has comfortable rooms, a nice lobby and it looks good on the outside. It has a pub-type restaurant that serves decent food - nothing special but as to the negative reviews: what do these people expect in a small town? 3 Michelin stars? I liked the fact that there were local people in there, not just tourists... more

The price is high for such a small town but rooms are grabbed quickly for the ferry travellers....be sure to book early. Our room was clean and quite large ...a cot was added at no extra charge. Staff was helpful and friendly..nice views over the harbour. We had dinner in the Quarterdeck Pub and it was very good. The seafood... more

The hotel has an excellent view of the bay and the fishman's wharf. It is fairly new and clean. However we found the facilities were inadequate given the price that we paid ($145). There was no fidige in the room that we stayed. There was a $5 charge for using their high speed internet. The fitness room was a joke... more

I recently stayed at the Quarterdeck Inn on Vancouver Island BC. The hotel is about 1km from the port town of Port Hardy on the north coast. Port Hardy is the starting point to the BC Ferries Inside Passage trip to Prince Rupert. Port Hardy hardly stands out in a crowd. It's a very remote and sleepy place with several... more
