Just got back from a fishing trip to the west coast of Vancouver Island in Barkley Sound. We stayed at the Bamfield Lodge, located in the tiny town of Bamfield BC. The lodgings themselves were okay and clean enough however it is in seriously need of some upgrades. The bedrooms had these rickety bunk beds that could have easily been regular beds instead, because the rooms were certainly large enough.

I don't think the owner/operators of the lodge really cared too much about fixing things up. An example of this is the fact that the chest freezer that fishermen are suppose to use for freezing their catch, barely worked. In fact, it never really froze any of our fish and one of our group had to fiddle around with the freezer just to get it to keep things cold (when your'e paying to stay at a place, you shouldn't have to do any handyman repairs to the appliances to get them to work)
