This is one of my favourite Bristol hotels, bettered only by the Marriott Royal. Great location by the Welsh Back for restaurants and pubs, including the famous Old Duke just around the corner. Live music (mainly jazz) 7b days a week. The rooms are stylish and although some are a little compact, nearly all face onto the main canal and... More

This isn't my first review of this hotel so I'll keep it brief. Keep coming back to this hotel because the location is good and easy to get to, rooms are fairly large for a city centre hotel (certainly big enough) and the service is pretty good. This time I found a few improvements which were noticeable and certainly positive.... More

Excellent hotel which although geared and priced towards the Business sector can offer excellent value. We paid £65 for a double room via Trivago which compares to a room rte of approx £160. Lovely room, well decorated, excellent bathroom with bath and separate shower. Great location minutes from the centre with loads of restaurants etc nearby. Tip-published breakfast price is... More

I was particularly impressed with my room, it was very modern cozy and well decorated. I believe I was given a disabled room, which was a bonus as it was bigger than average! The bathroom was massive and had a lovely walk in shower AND a bath. The bath also had a TV in the wall which I was initially... More

We arrived for a pre Christmas break on 23rd December 2012. Upon entering the room I noticed that it had not been cleaned properly (marks on the floor, tea drips on the tray, stains on the curtains, dust on all surfaces etc) I requested the bathroom floor be cleaned whilst we were out and although they swept the floor it... We had booked through Travelzoo for a special offer. When we arrived the reservation made was for the previous month! The reception staff were extremely helpful and the reservation honoured. We had a superior room facing the waterfront, well worth the extra, which was extremely comfortable. Breakfast at the hotel was a lovely, relaxed experience. Good food and excellent service.... More

I've been back to this hotel a few times when I've been visiting friends in the area. There is another Mercure in Bristol but I prefer this one for a few particular reasons; it's conveniently located towards the bottom of Park Street and not too far from the main shopping centre, river view rooms are very pleasant, it's less corporate... this hotel was perfect in my eyes. the room was lovely and clean with a comfortable bed and all sorts of useful things- hot drinks, fridge, hairdryer, and even a mini tv in the bathroom! i had a particularly great view of the river luckily although i think this might cost extra usually, my stay was paid for by work.

Stayed for 2 nights on business and apart from having a dodgy view (121) the hotel wa great. Good service, clean fresh rooms and spotless. Location is certainly one of the best points opening straight onto the waterfront and 2 minute walk from city centre.
