This is a pub that serves food and has some rooms. It is in a lovely setting. The staff need to learn from the owner that customers should not be treated like they are a nuisance. All bar staff in this pub surpass themselves in being too busy to serve customers. As you approach the bar they always find something... more

This place is a gem, nestled deep in the beautiful English countryside. It is also one of the few places near Bath that will allow one night stays at the weekend, a boon if you cannot escape for two nights. We stayed in Room 2 which has a shower and no bath but what a shower - huge and powerful,... more

Lovely place to stay - friendly staff, gorgeous rooms, completely in the middle of nowhere so wonderful for a special relaxing break. Would definitely go back - food great, wide range of drinks and the Manager goes the extra mile to help with any special requests. A perfect find. more

To look out over fields and countyside for miles from your balcony or take a seat in the garden with a drink or book is beautiful. The range of beverage choice is extensive and our food was delicious with perfectly cooked vegetables teamed with local meats and fish, the menu has something for everyone. The service, even with a full... more

We have just spent eight nights at the inn. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, and no request was too much trouble. The owner and his staff were friendly and attentive. The room was delightful and an extra bonus was the balcony to sit and soak up the sun and sounds of the countryside. This... more

My family and i have just returned from a two night stay at the Hunters Rest Inn. If you want a short break in beautiful scenery and close to major centres such as Bath and Bristol then this is the place for you. The inn can be found at the top of a country lane and although slightly tricky to... more

We booked 1 night here before we flew out of Bristol airport on holiday, it is about 20 mins away. We checked it in time for an tasty snack lunch. While eating our luggage was put in our room, which was smallish but perfectly formed, with a bath and a shower as well as a smart roof terrace. The manager... more

All started well as we entered the bar area which was pleasant and clean. After taking our seats we collected menus fom the bar and returned to order our meals and drinks, indicating where we were sitting. Our cutlery was duly brought by a pleasant and cheerful waitress but only after a further 10 minutes or so were we asked... more

The table originally chosen is classified by law as in a bar area, where it is illegal for under 14's to be. Both our conservatory and family room are not classed as a bar and are therefore legal for under 14's to be seated. If the party had asked at the bar one of the staff would have happily explained...

Just spent one night at Hunters Rest and would have loved to stay longer. This lovely inn/restaurant is just 1/2 hour from Bristol Airport, 8 miles south of the city, making it a good base to explore Bristol, Bath, and the county of Somerset. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom looked newly-remodeled & had the BEST shower out... more

The two of us first visited the Hunter's Rest for my birthday in January 2005 and we fell in love with the place. It nestles in the heart of the Somerset countryside and pheasants, owls and swallows are so ubiquitous they seem part of the service. The inn has a great atmosphere and truly feels like the earthy, but civilised... more
