I was allocated the basement room which faced the road for £50 per night including breakfast although I did tell the owners before I paid that I would not be taking breakfast due to a medical procedure the next day. There were a distinctive musty smell in this room, the type you would attribute to damp. I went in and out of the room several times to make sure that my senses were not playing tricks on me and there was no doubt that the damp smell was only in the room. There was also lot of noise from the road even when the window was closed, this may be ok for people who are used to living by a fairly busy road but unfortunately did not suit me as I normally live in a quiet location. The room and the furnishings were very basic but seemed very clean and tidy. Mike and Kay, the owners, were welcoming and friendly.
