Stayed here at the weekend and have very mixed feelings on the hotel. Firstly - the positives - the room was nice, fairly new, beds were comfy (but too soft for me - that's personal taste though), staff were friendly, bar was nice, cooked breakfast was good, perfect size portions (when we got the correct food) and the location -... more

I was impressed with this hotel in 2004 but upon my return in 2009 I cannot say the same. I had a horsefly in my room upon arrival and a pregnant lady came to my room and killed it with the sheers of the window. She put it in the trash but the sheer was still dirty and no offer... more

I have just returned from a weekend break with some friends in two rooms. Whilst the public rooms are reasonable, the bedrooms are a disgrace to the De Vere Hotel chain! I stay at De Vere hotels regularly and have found them to be very good generally, but this one was truly awful! I would seriously recommend to you book... more

Pictures of the hotel give the impression that you will be staying in a country house away from noise streets. Indeed the hotel is located in the midle of town and the green in front is a public park where a brass band with drummer were practicing all day Saturday. This was followed by a wedding reception in the hotel... more

Ok, so parts of the hotel are looking a little tired, but we were assured that renovations are afoot. That being said, our room was clean with a large bed and had everything that we would need. I would be a little upset if I'd paid £165 for the room - but I didn't, finding the hotel on LateRooms for... more

I've stayed at this hotel many times. I can imagine that once upon a time, this must have been a real jewel in the devere crown, but sadly it's starting to show the signs of age. It's is still a charming buliding, and the breakfast buffet and restaurant (17) are worth visiting for alone, but the rooms are starting to... more

I have visited many of the Devere deluxe hotels and this is the first that has floored me, and not in a good way. I nervously read some of the reviews on this site prior to check in and hoped they were being harsh. Wrong of me to doubt my fellow travellers. Do not stay here if you have not... more

My husband and me had tickets to see Ross Noble at the Corn Exchange and wanted to make a day/night of it in Cambridge. We wanted a central location, but most of the hotels in this location are very expensive and we couldn't justify those prices just for somewhere to crash for the night. We were well aware of the... more

You expect something special for £165, room and breakfast. I got a shabby room, tired to the point of exhaustion, hairdryer safety test label a year out of date, a knackered iron, towel rail hanging off the wall, taps in sink loose, those in bath covered in limescale, bath cracked, barely enough deskspace to work on, poor lighting, clogged ventilator... more
