The Centennial does have a great location, near to the railway station, and opposite the CAMRA pub of the year, The Flying Pig. However, this hotel is very quirky, and not in a good way. Many rooms front the very busy Hills Road, and I know that you can't move a hotel to a quieter place, but you could have... More

I stayed here with a group of friends last week and we were all very happy with the level of service provided. Si the owner was more than accommodating and he kept us entertained while we enjoyed a casual drink in the hotel bar. This is a quaint family run hotel in a great location. They know how to look... I have stayed here many times over the past 12 years and am treated like an old friend. One of the hotel's advantages is its location relative to both the station and the centre of town. As others have noted there is a wonderful personal atmosphere provided by staff, not least the current manager and his parents who looked after... More

Last year alone I probably visited the Centennial for 10 stays. Our office is literally next door therefore it is the obvious choice for me. The staff is wonderful, they have not a single time complained about the fact that I never check-in before midnight or 1am. They are very friendly. The breakfast is quite good as well though I... The hotel is conveniently located near to the train station. The owners were very friendly and accomodating. I liked the fact the breakfast was cooked to order and so much better than buffet style. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Free fast wifi was well received.

We have stayed in quite a few hotels in Cambridge now and generally they are pretty good. What we loved about centennial was the personal touch! We were treated with such courtesy. They hotel is clean and comfortable. The rooms are not huge but are really comfy and, quite frankly, what do you want from a hotel but a comfy... More

Unusually reasonably priced for Cambridge. I was there for a business meeting: most budget / business hotels were £120+ (some were over £200 which is ludicrous for a basic business hotel midweek), so £90 was fine. Convenient: short walk to railway station. Clean, friendly, efficient. Internet worked fine. The decor is rather chintzy / dated and looks faded but really,... More

The sign outside the hotel appears to have a picture of the Grim Reaper on it...well, the hotel isn't quite as bad as that. There seems to have been a bit of refurbishing recently, but the overall impression is still a bit dingy and depressing...it's like a trip back to the 70s The rooms are small - I was travelling... We had to visit Cambridge for a team meeting, and our company booked this hotel for several employees. I read the hotel’s reviews before arriving, and was quite concerned about what I was about to find. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. The bad: rooms are worn and outdated, and relatively small. The breakfast is a bit basic, and doesn’t... More

The problem with Cambridge is its severe lack of hotels, especially properties from the larger chains. I stayed at the Centennial Hotel towards the end of September as all my usual choices for business were full or charging ridiculously high rates. Our travel agent managed to book me in here. The young gentleman who checked me in was efficient and... More
