I Stayed at the Hamden during the Cambridge Folk Festival. I do not drive but I did not have a problem with getting from Cherry Hinton into town as we were on a good bus route, with bus stops within sight of the guest house. Let me just start by saying that because we didn't have breakfast, and it's a bit too far from centre to walk in, I've only given an Average, but if it's the right location for your stay, I would absolutely recommend it. We stayed for one night in August. B&B is about a 10 minute drive from the centre and there is plenty of parking. We stayed on the ground floor at the back of the hotel overlooking the (beautiful) garden. Room had tea/coffee making facilities and a mini-fridge and was extremely quiet.
