Alexander Bed and Breakfast is in a gorgeous neighborhood right outside the center of Cambridge. It is a beautiful Victorian house with an incredible garden. Vera Schuster-Beesley and Roderick Beesley run the B&B from their home and they were very welcoming and hospitable. They even suggested many things to do and places to see in Cambridge. The two B&B rooms... more

I stayed at the Alexander Bed and Breakfast for 10 days this summer--it was a wonderful experience. I felt welcomed and comfortable, and at ease during my entire stay. The breakfast was wonderful, and the Beesley-Schusters, the proprietors, were very accommodating, kind and respectful to me and my sister. And it is just a quick walk into the center of... more

I had a good feeling about the place before going, and it far exceeded even my highest expectations. I usually don't like B&Bs, as I like to be left alone and go about my business. But the couple that runs the place did just that: they left us alone, in our comfortable room, yet also were quick to offer help... more

Superb location with acces to a frig, the back yard and laundry. We stayed nearly 3 weeks and the owners were very acommodating when we needed to stay longer than intended. Owners are wonderful, interesting people. Excellent parking. Proximity to Hill Road shops and restaurants a plus. This will be our first choice on any return trip to Cambridge. more

My wife and I stayed here over Christmas in a warm and comfortable room, decorated with fresh flowers and seasonal decorations. The bed, we discovered, was the best we've ever slept in, the bathroom was spotless, and the shower was amazing. On arrival, the family that runs the place immediately made us feel welcome. We had never visited Cambridge before,... more

Generous hosts in a friendly environment, great English garden. Warm and clean, freedom to use kitchen to warm meals and prepare food. Central to colleges and public transport. Restaurants and cafes 2-3 minutes walk away, the best of which is the Algerian called Al Casbah. I am a visiting scholar and this accommodation more than met my needs. more

This B&B is conveniently located about an 8-minute walk from the train station. About a 20-30 minute pleasant walk to the main historic colleges of Cambridge. The B&B consists of two front rooms in a family home. The room I stayed in was roomy and clean; included a small en suite bathroom, TV and a cheerful little semi-private patio (windows... more

Lovely place. The location is very good. Very close to the station, and a nice walk into the city centre. Good restaurants and pubs within 5 minute walk. There are two rooms. I stayed in the smaller of the two rooms. The bathroom was very clean and (for lack of a better word) modern. It had double-doors that opened out... more

Good location- between station and colleges/ town. Room functional and clean but not especially comfortable or nice. Only 2 rooms. Owners insisted on a cheque in advance to secure room. At £70 a night I was expecting some more homely touches. No cooked breakfast and it is served in an untidy family kitchen. Owners friendly. more
