Myself and a friend stayed in a twin room in this small hotel and found it to be very good value. We were visiting Cambridge on a busy weekend, and rather than stay in one of the nasty B&B's out in Cherry Hinton or similar, decided to try the Ely Guest House, as Ely is only a 15 minute train ride from Cambridge. We paid £45 for the twin, which had an ensuite shower and loo (with a larger bathroom down the hall), a telly and a table and chairs: the decor was inoffensive but uninspiring. Staff were largely absent, but as we had no problems or complaints during our stay this was fine. The room was basically clean (although somebody else's talcum powder on the bathroom floor was dismaying) and the beds were very comfortable. It's not a B&B, as no breakfast is provided. Tea and coffee are meant to be available, but the teabags etc in our room looked really manky and horrible, so we didn't use them.
Considering the fact that a bunk bed in a shared room in the Cambridge...
