We have just spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel and have already discussed a return visit next year. The attention to detail is spot on and they obviously take any constructive criticism seriously as (thanks to P Ramsay of Edinburgh) we were given a complimentary drinks tray each day with fresh milk left in our fridge. We both remarked... more

After suffering ill-health, i decided that my wife and myself deserved a special treat. We have visited Chester several times, [a beautiful city] and have talked of staying in the Grosvenor. I am so glad we did! A great experience, although finding the car park can be frustrating. The disabled room we had allocated was superb. We ate in La... more

Rooms, food and service all first rate. Fantastic location for wandering round Chester. Couple of minor quibbles: a) It would be great to be able to make tea/coffee in one's room - only available (at a cost) via room service and b) If one is on a DBB deal (eating in the brasserie) this only covers the basic main course... more

We stayed in this hotel for our silver wedding anniversary and we weren’t disappointed. Everything worked so well, from the parking to the attentive service. We were worried that the atmosphere might be a bit intimidating but this was definitely not the case. We ate in the Brassiere and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The position in the middle of the... more

I would concur with everything written about this beautiful hotel. The only thing I would say is that the service, especially in the brassarie is slipping. Be careful Grosvenor, you are the best but don't let it drop! more

I stayed here with five friends in August. The service from all staff is superb. The rooms luxurious. The cocktails very classy! And right in the heart of the city. Yes it is expensive (especially £35 per room to use the spa showers - no pool) and £7.50 to park. But that's to be expected witha 5*. Take up the... more

Stayed on a 2 night deal including an a la carte meal at Simon Radley. Fantastic value. Wonderful suite and staff couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. Food and service in Simon Radley were outstanding. The only small gripe was that the staff in La Brasserie are not up to the same standard as the rest of the Hotel,... more

I've stayed here several times, and it never disappoints. The rooms and bathrooms are generally very large, luxuriously furnished, and immaculately clean. There is flat screen TV with loads of channels, a DVD player and a Bose radio/CD thing. A welcome recent innovation is that you now have a kettle and tea-making stuff in your room, perhaps to compensate for... more
