We pitched up on a Sunday night @11pm and weren't expecting much. However, when we saw the room we were amazed at the enormous, soft bed and recently refurbished interior, including a proper bath - fantastic value for money considering that we only paid a Travelodge type price. The hotel itself is huge, and has a Victorian and a modern... More

We stayed in the original part of the hotel. Room was large, two double beds as there were three adults in the same room so this was welcome. Room very hot overnight, we struggled to regulate temp. Internal view, noise as we were overlooking ac for kitchen it seems. Bathroom tired, in need of revamp. Hotel itself is in a... More

Stayed here at the start of this month with my boyfriend who'd booked this as a surprise birthday present. Stayed in room 233 and I've nothing but praise throughout my stay. The room was absolutely fantastic, fitted with a jacuzzi bath which, after a day of shopping and pampering was nothing short of a delight. The room was immaculate, not... More

I stayed at the Queen hotel on 7th February 2012 for one night on business. It was -4 degrees Centigrade and there was no heating in the room. I complained to reception on my way out for the evening and when I returned the room was freezing. Most of my fellow colleagues had the same problem, but I discovered the... More

hotel parking costs 15 pounds a night at the weekends. An expensive extra. Breakfast is great. hotel staff generally good. Concierge is great. Great advice on where to go for a walk. Hotel is a good 15 minute walk from centre. Rooms good. Bar has character and the hotel itself is calm and relaxing., Interesting pictures and items on the... More

We have stayed in this hotel twice now and it's fabulous. The staff, food and accommodation is second to none. So handy to the train station especially if you want to travel into Liverpool. The grounds of the hotel are lavishly decorated with pieces from the museum, which is a plus for photos for any occasion. More

Booked a two night break and have only good things to say about the hotel and staff. We were upgraded on arrival and the room was fantastic, warm and clean and very well laid out. The restuarant was great and we were greeted at breakfast with bucks fizz (not the group, that would have been ridiculous) :o) The choice of... More

On a UK trip with Insight tours, we were booked in to the Queen Hotel, Chester. We must have had the worst room in the place, Room 108. It was at the end of a long corridor and a reasonable size room. Floor uneven and squeaked, 3 of the lights in the room did not work so maintenance came up... More

My husband booked this hotel as an anniversary surprise at the weekend. He was very concerned when he later saw some less than flattering reviews; so much so, he called the hotel to make them aware of the special occasion and that "nothing can go wrong". I can truly say that it was a wonderful stay. Our room was in... More
