The Westminster is dirty, cramped, dated and the staff are beyond rude! Our room, and the 7 others that our family occupied, were extremely small, stuffy and dirty. The decor is flaking and the ceilings a dirty yellow rather than white. The bathrooms in the room are a throw-back to the 60's with dirty, cracked tiles, grime around the taps... more

We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely recommend the Westminster. The location is convenient for the town and the railway station. There is a shuttle bus from the station (which is about 300 yards away) to the town and it's free. The food is very good - we went with a large party so we had a three course... more

The location of the hotel is fine, close to the station and fairly quiet. The hotel generally is in need of an upgrade, the decor is old-fashioned and a bit tatty. The rooms are small and poorly lit, but very clean. Breakfast was nothing special,I did find it off-putting that there was one large pot of marmalade instead of individual... more

Hotel is ideally situated but rather in need of update. Asked for separate shower and given room with shower over bath; room was changed but shower very small and basin in bedroom! Bar staff unhelpful when ordering sandwiches (which were overpriced). The hotel was saved by an excellent breakfast with very attentive and helpful staff. Overall not up to usual... more

No internet or Wifi. Telephone broken, toilet broken, no hot water. Breakfast was fairly good and hotel is very close to train station. Breakfast staff was friendly, efficient and attentive. Can not say the same thing about staff who answer the telephone or front desk people. I would not stay here again. more

But when we got there it was brilliant!!!! There had been a mix up with our reservation which was best westerns fault but Tom the receptionist sorted this... more

We booked the hotel through the Best Western site, a little bit of confusion on the rate, both at check in and check out, but no problems there. The hotel has a pleasant enough feel about it on arrival, but annoying to have a wide screen television right behind the receptionist, so it is impossible to pay attention to the... more

Overnight stay for a friends 40th - close to station and centre of Chester only 10 mins walk so hotel location farly quiet. Parking has to be paid for seperately. Very good breakfast and staff were helpful. Hotel decor was fair although perhaps looking a bit dated. Room quite small and pretty dusty but bathroom clean. Like most hotels suffers... more

We had read all the reviews and wanted to put some reviews right. We checked in and they were friendly and approachable. The room was basic but very clean and had everything in that we needed. The breakfast was one of the best we have had and we have travelled in Britain a lot and it was hot, plentiful, and... more
