We only stayed for one night and found the hotel to be very much " work in progress".There's a refurbishment going on and it looks like the ownwers have big plans for the place. We had booked one of the newly refurbished rooms with breakfast for £55,which is really good value for Chester. On entering the room we found just a...

Absolutely disgusting!! We booked for three nights in February 2012, looking forward to some sightseeing in Chester and Liverpool. We arrived at about 6pm and had to wait for around 5 minutes at the booking desk which is next to the bar. Whilst waiting for the receptionist we strolled around the bar and noticed that every, and I mean EVERY,...

We knew that the Dene Hotel was at the cheaper end of the range, so were under no illusions that we were in a for a luxury break. The accommodation was clean and spacious, rough around the edges but quite adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived to the Dené in the early evening and was greeted by very enthusiastic and approachable staff members in the reception. Looking around the hotel, my first reactions were great, and the décor brought some lovely childhood memories. Some may say that the hotel has aged badly, but I think it brought out a sense of youthful nostalgia. For...

We booked thru late rooms for two nights as we wanted to go to the Christmas markets in Mancheater. When we arrived they had no record of the booking. After a bit of searching the girl on reception found it and checked us in to room 63. On on our journey to the room there was numerous evidence of the...

Me and my other half stayed here for 2 nights in November and really enjoyed our time here. It's only a mile drive to the zoo which has free parking. And only A fiver in a taxi to town for a drin at night. It has a bar which is handy for a night cap or pre drink. Found the...
