Crumbs on stairs had not been removed in the 3 days we stayed. All chairs in bar area were badly stained. Very old fashioned and shabby and in need of major overhaul. Restaurant closed in the evenings we were there. Would not stay there again. more

This hotel does not have the wow factor when you turn off the main road into the sizeable car park as does the Crabwall Manor where I have stayed before (and reviewed). I'll be blunt. The Dene Hotel is the worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Staff were pleasant enough although its never a good thing to have them all stood in a group chatting as visitors arrive! We stayed at this hotel for just one night, we arrived early, they kindly allowed us to have our room as it was ready. The staff and the food were excellent. Would certainly stay again, very good value for money. more
