I booked the Mitchells from the Chester,U.K. tourism website before leaving home. The reviews from the past guests have given this place many favorable comments. I booked for two nights during my recent trip to Ireland/N. Ireland/U.K.. It is a superb guest house in many ways. The owners Helen and Colin welcomed me at the day of arrival with coffee... More

My wife and I think this is a beautiful family guest house, with a friendly atmosphere. We received a warm welcome from the hosts, (Helen & Colin) who served us with tea and biscuits on arrival. We loved visiting Chester, had a great night’s sleep, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. We found the rooms very clean and tidy, and the... More

We stayed there for three nights on an anniversary trip. They were such wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. They even drove us to the train station when we were running late for a tour bus. The room was so comfortable and the garden was absolutely stunning.

A lovely b&b. Helen and Colin are wonderful hosts. Rooms are always spotlessly clean and we enjoy the breakfast and service. The rooms are spacious and according to the owners they are undertaking refurbishments. which I feel is not really needed as each room we have stayed in has been lovely and quite traditional old fashioned which might not be... Excellent location close to the centre of Chester. Room was a good size, but fittings felt a bit tired. Breakfast was nice enough, but hospitality was not gushing. A pleasant stay, but not exceptional.

We stayed at this guest house for one night over a weekend with family including our young son. we do not recommend this guest house for families with small children as the family room is on the 3rd floor and access is limited via a very steep staircase which is not suitable for the elderly or young! After spending the... More

We are very sorry that you were not happy with your stay with us. We apologised for the breakfast which was immediately thrown away and replaced, and like-wise for the alarm clock that, as you suggested, may well have been switched on to the default alarm time during valeting the room. We did accommodate you by completing two rooms an... More

We were warmly welcomed by Helen with an immediate offer of tea or coffee. Mitchells is a lovely victorian house with high ceilings very nicely decorated with a home from home appeal. Our Double Room was decorated in a tasteful way. Nice toiletries and fluffy towels in the en-suite shower room. The tea tray is one of the best we... More

Lovely b&b, very well ran, we had a nice big bed which was very comfy, had the best sleep I've had in ages. Made us feel very welcome, and was nice to see the family pets wondering round and the parrot talking away, it was a really nice breakfast in the morning with brilliant service to go with it, the...
