I can't understand why this B&B warrants 4 stars. Our bedroom was fine, although the bathroom was small but our friends' bedroom was small and unimpressive. Stayed for 3 nights in September for our ruby wedding. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts making us feel very special. The location is ideal, the breakfast delicious and generous and the room comfortable and cosy. We will not even look anywhere else when we next visit Chester. more

My Mum and I stayed in this hotel in mid-October for one night. Our room (Gemini) did not have any heating! We checked in quite late, went for a short walk and returned into freezing conditions. The elegant Recorder's House in Chester was such a delightful hotel in which to stay. From the four poster room to the scrummy breakfasts our stay was perfect. We chose the Recorder House due to its location - it is in a perfect spot for exploring Chester, it is on the City walls and right next to the river, and only 5 minutes walk from the shops and restaurants.
