really enjoyed the experience, glad i didnt tak any notice of the other reviews. Excellent location in the heart of Chester and only a short walk to the river. The food was all homemade and presented well. With live music on wednesdays and fridays i will be returning for another stay more

Shocking - nice enough building from the outside-but the rooms are filthy and worn. Our bed was uncomfortable, bathroom disgusting, staff decidedly luke-warm, parking inadequate, food mediocre...the whole experience depressing and disappointing. Yuk. more

I suppose it was my own fault because I chose to ignore the bad reviews I had previously read of this bed and breakfast. After getting there late at night we were too tired to inspect the room properly - but since many of the bulbs didnt work this was not possible in the dark anyway. After struggling to sleep... more

Before I start this review I didn't get as far as staying at the hotel. I booked a room on the 31st October through late rooms. What a mistake!!!! Late rooms were great but the hotel??? Unfortunately due to work commitments I had to cancel the room. I emailed the hotel directly through their website. No reply. I emailed again... more

We had stayed here years ago and it was quite nice: rooms had recently been refurbished, pub was buzzing, etc. Decided to stay here unexpectedly so did not have opportunity to check recent reviews. I should have known when asked... more

We had such a lovely time, the pub is very old and quaint and the staff were extremely pleasant.... more

Having stayed recently we returned to Chester this week and stayed here again. This time they were doing a mid-week special offer on a 4-poster bed and we stayed in "The Daresbury Room". What can I say, fabulous bed!!! room was a little tired and the carpet was threadbare in places but new owners say that they are refubing all... more
