Hotel was clean, staff (not owners) were pleasant, good location. The food (served on side plates) was of a very poor quality and very small portions. Evening meals were 'boil-in-the-bag' fish and meat, with strange vegetable combinations of boiled celery, boiled onions and hash browns, followed by fruit crumble with no crumble. Only wine available was barely drinkable 'house wine'... more

The hotel was clean, helpful staff and good position but the food on offer both for breakfast and evening meal was depressing. It was like a throwback to the '70's with miserly portions like 2 grapefruit segments and a suggestion of a slither of cocktail cherry, I did not detect anything Cornish on offer, frozen fish, 'seasonal' vegetables of swede... more

Before I booked I read some mixed reviews about the cleanliness of the hotel, but I found nothing wrong with that. It's a good clean hotel with all the facilities you expect from a small hotel. My room, a single room at the top floor, was small in size but had everything I needed, including a shower. The breakfast was... more

I found the Lerryn by accident. We had to go to Falmouth on a certain day at short notice and this hotel just happened to look OK on screen. Well, the hotel is great. You can eat in the restaurant, but you have to book in advance, but as the town is only 7-10 mins away (with my walking) -... more

I stayed here for a few days with a young family of 4. The family room was clean and roomy providing the pull out bed was put away in the morning. The location was good but I found the level of facilities basic in relation to the price which is based on a per person per night basis. On the... more

Apparently it used to be the maternity hospital! It was a bit like Fawlty Towers - staff peeping into the dining room to see who was there so that they could very quickly clean the room. We had a room with balcony and sea view. The sea view was over the top of two other properties and the balcony was... more

I found the Lerryn Hotel very dissapointing. At best the staff were reasonably friendly and the guest house reasonably clean. However a strange smell pervaded the guest house and the decor was extremely old fashioned (blankets rather than a duvet on the bed, a matress that felt fifty years old and 1970's style carpets). At 78 pounds per room, per... more

We also had a breakfast table experience - it is very important that you sit at the correct table and the poor couple who had inadvertantly sat at our table were made to feel very awkward. Otherwise the hotel was basic - although the TV remote controls seem to play a very important role in this hotel! Wouldn't stay there... more

The hotel itself was of satisfactory standard facility wise. However, having inadvertently sat at the wrong table for breakfast on the first morning we were subjected to a humiliating and unnecessary amount of abuse from the proprietor. He shouted across the breakfast room that we were 'Stupid people' and continued to do so in the kitchen. This was later followed... more
