The hotel i a tiny bit out of the way if you don't a car but they make up for this by being some of the nicest and helpful people you've met helping you get to looe if you need a ride. The hotel it self is really warm a welcoming and the rooms are truly beautiful, which amazing breakfast... More

Gill and Martin really do a great job, from the word go you feel like your at home especially with the offer of a cup tea. Polraen is in an amazing location with Looe only a short train ride away. The rooms are amazing, the breakfast is to die for and the service is incredible. Everything about this place is... More

We had a great stay at Polraen Country House Hotel. The room was lovely, and the welcome warm. Gill & Martin were very helpful and a font of knowledge for the area. It was nice to see the single carriage trains passing by, and to be able to use them from the little station just up the road from the... More

We stayed at Polraen together with our boys (13, 11) and we felt like being at home. Gill and Martin were excellent hosts who took care and gave valuable hints what to do and where to go. We also liked the english breakfast with Martin´s special mushrooms. Our sons were taken serious despite the fact that they were still young... More

Never normally write a review after visiting a hotel yet I always read Tripadviser before booking holiday venues. Had to for the Polraen. Gill, Martin and their family were warm, attentive and fabulous during our stay. We chose the hotel because it was on the'flat'(for Grandad), had carparking and a garden space(for 2yr old Tia).Best breakies ever, situated on great... More

The family took a holiday to Looe, a lovely place, rooms were very nice and clean, breakfast Great for the kids. It reminded us of Jamaica the hills of St. Anne. Hotel is a lovely place on a flat. You will find it has lots of hills. You can reach the Eden Project in 30mins from there, while worth the... More

We stayed at Polraen for a few days in August 2011. We loved the place and the atmosphere so much. The structure is refined with a beatiful conservatory, a very large and wonderful park, and a very nice pub where we had the opportunity to meet other guests and to have a great time with them. Breakfast is excellent and... More

This was our first visit to Cornwall and the hotel was comfortable, relaxing and welcoming. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and we loved the garden. It is particularly well placed for seeing attractions such as Cotehele and the Eden project, and dinner on the first night (as were the breakfasts) was a treat. More

Another great stay at the Polraen, this year we took along Grandma, Grandad niece & nephew. It worked out brilliantly! We occupied a family room, a double and a twin. All the rooms were adjacent which really helped with our extended family group. All the bedrooms were of a very good standard. The family room was perfect for us and... More
