A very pleasant 6 day stay. Julian and his staff were incredibly attentive. The view from our room was spectacular, and the food in the restaurant was wonderful. We enjoyed being able to walk into Looe for sightseeing. We had a very relaxing, enjoyable time and will return. more

This hotel is so good - the comfort, the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and most of all the amazing views - we cannot reccommend it highly enough. It really does deserve another star, at least. We shall be returning as soon as we can! more

Pretentious, but poor, food, poor service, great views, average rooms, high prices. All this and the ghost of Basil Fawlty. more

My husband and I have just spent a week at the Fieldhead for our Wedding Anniversary. We had a lovely stay and will definitely return in the future. You too stayed for 6 days, tested all the facilities and I it looks like we passed the Fieldhead Hotel Marmite test hahaha No Basil Fawltys here then? Not even a Manuel? Thanks Julian and your staff for our accommodation for 6 great days in Looe. We were a little apprehensive due to a couple of poor reviews of The Fieldhead Hotel but can only conclude that the contributors must have been staying in some other establishment because we found the hotel excellent in ALL respects, way above it's 2 star rating.... more

I found this hotel very dissapointing. Starting with a very steep flight of stairs to an unmanned reception. My husband had to phone the manager to advise him of our arrival. A note to Julian and his crew.... thank you so much for making us feel most welcomed... you run a most relaxing and enjoyable establishment. From the moment we walked in - we were greeted upon arrival and shown our rooms... whereupon we relaxed by the pool...nicely heated. Great breakfasts - a huge choice and really scrumptious. Dear jacqsprat42, I cannot tell you how delighted I was to read your review of the Fieldhead Hotel. As you can imagine, it is very demoralising, personally and for the staff, to receive negative reviews (when we all strive to do our best) and we have had a couple of those recently (or should I say, from 4 Summers ago)...
Although it was quite a while ago, I feel the need to suport the claims from the recent guests. We stayed at the Fieldhead many times before the present owners took over. We always enjoyed our stay there until this last time. The new owners have spoilt everything that was good there by serving cheap rubbish food. I agree that... more
