I've just come back from 2 weeks at The Gulls. What a find! I could not believe how wonderful this place is. Looe itself is one of the best places I visited in the UK. I could not believe the hospitality - I was welcomed by the most beautiful cake and tea - fantastic after a long drive from Heathrow.... more

Having read the previous comments I was a bit dubious about staying at The Gulls, however after staying there I was thoroughly impressed. The standards were fantastic, room excellent and breakfasts to match. If your looking for a relaxed enjoyable stay with superb views this is definately the place to stay. Make your own mind up, but give it chance,... more

Firstly, you have to be fit to carry any heavy luggage from wherever you're lucky enough to park, way down on the busy Hannafore Road, and you have to walk on the road (no pavement) for a little, before navigating a long slope uphill to the hotel. Don't believe the "parking for two cars" claim on the website, either. You... more

We arrived fairly late on a Saturday night and had to park about a mile away. Struggled with our cases uphill and entered the hotel via the back entrance, as the front was not well signposted. Room was fairly small and bedroom furniture very much like something out of MFI. Bathroom small but neat and tidy. Balcony was the best... more

Had the Jellicoe booked and deposit paid in July for a September stay. On arrival we had to park the car half a mile away due to the fact that if you dont get the 2 parking spaces at the hotel then there is nothing left. After dragging the suitcases to the hotel i was greeted with "you must be... more

Stayed at the Gulls 7/10th. September. my wife and I couldn't praise enough the service, cleanliness of the hotel and the friendliness of Lorraine, Elsie and Larry. The breakfasts were superb. Our room "Drake" had wonderful views of the river, pier, beach and East Looe. If we return to this area in the future, we hope that there will be a... more

The location of the Gulls is excellant, although parking is some distance away. Our room was very clean but quite small with only room for one bedside table. The staff were all friendly. The breakfast was a big let down. the first day it was cold. It is clear the 'fried' eggs are microwaved. Orders were taken the previous night... more

We stayed in DRAKE room for 4 days and the room was well decorated. The room had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. The carpet could have done with a bit of a clean but this was easily forgotten. The first 3 nights were really quite cold and although we turned the radiators on full, nothing was happening-... more
