Stayed for a week in May this year and it was my best stay in Newquay so far! I come down most years with friends early on in the summer before peak season and this year found the customer service, location and general atmosphere at Sunnyside to be spot on. Would definitely recommend to others and will be returning next... more

Stayed there for a surfing week in June and can't really say a bad word about the place. Friendly staff, nice bar (better than most in town), amazing views and really good value for money. The beach is only 2 minutes walk away as are numerous bars. If you're after luxury rooms and 5 star treatment then it's probably not... more

Good value for money, friendly service (nice friendly face aways on reception and helpful), clean hotel. Location was ideal too - about a 30 second walk from bars, shops and beach. Our room had sea views which were great. more

This hotel was great value at only £30 each including breakfast (myself and partner) over the Easter weekend. Room was very clean and had fantastic view looking onto the house on the island. Budget furnishings, but didn't expect any thing else for money we paid. Very comfy beds and good nights sleep. Bar was good and was well looked after... more

If you are looking for the Boutique style hotel that you see on the Sunnyside web site then, book somewhere else. Apart from the very nice entrance and bar area (which did not open during our stay) then the rest of the hotel was in a very bad state of repair. Having only taken over the hotel last year, we are currently in the process of modernising our guest rooms. We have already completed a major refurbishment of the bar, games room, and reception and lobby area, with a new restaurant and in-house surf school to be completed this month. The guest rooms are very much our next priority. Our initial...

When asked if there was any work going on at YOUR hotel, Zoe did indeed confirm "no". The caller did not ask about neighbouring hotels. I have since reported this complaint to the developers, and they have assured me that no work or deliveries will be undertaken on site before 9am in accordance with local council guidelines.
