We flew down to Newquay from Manchester and got a taxi the 1 mile to the B&B. Arrived at 2.30pm with cases and rang the doorbell. The owner came to the door and let my wife and the cases into the porch although it wasn't big enough for us all. And without a word of a lie this was the welcome we got: "Hello, you can't come in yet we are getting 3 rooms ready today - I did say on the phone you wouldn't be able to get in till later and how are you going to pay? A cash card doesn't cover the full amount of the balance if you pay by cheque and so how is cash and a cheque for you? Is that OK? Anyway leave your cases here and come back about half past 4. Goodbye".

I was gobsmacked. Anyway the place was nice and clean but Mr and Mrs Yeates were the oddest couple to run a B&B.
