I stayed in this hotel as part of a large group. It has obviously been added onto many times, as the room I was in was a long walk from reception. There is a lot of walking up and down on each floor, so if you have mobility issues, ask for a room near the lifts. I was in a... more

Bathrooms very dated but guest room with a sea view was very good, stunning views from five windows (turret shaped room). £125 per night was expensive compared to other local hotels. Half a mile from restaurants, bars and shops so The Hotel Victoria where we stayed previously was better located for amenities. Pool is very basic so a little dissapointing... more

This hotel is well situated, very close to the city centre and right on the beach and it does have a car park at the back which was nice. That's the good things about this hotel. After having diner in town, we came back at the hotel around 10pm and heard loud music coming from the conference room (which was... more

Visited the Hotel Bristol with girlfriend on a few days trip to Cornwall. A sea view room is definitely worth the extra as the views are excellent. Reception is friendly but some areas of the hotel look slightly dated. Room itself was comfortable and well appointed but a little on the steep side given that we went off season. Breakfast... more

My work booked me in here at the last minute as I had business in town. £85 B&B The Bristol is right on the sea front -with a pedestrian crossing directly outside to get closer to the sea! Its a stones throw from the commercial centre of Newquay. I was a bit worried about staying close to the centre as... more

Other reviewers have said that the Bristol is "living in the past", which I think might be a bit harsh, but it certainly is old fashioned, and as far as I can tell, it is very deliberately that way to appeal to the OAP coach tour market. Unlike a lot of formerly grand 1920s hotels, the Bristol is not shabby... more

I think Nashee has hit the nail on the head. For the town it's a nice hotel - but you have to think that Newquay is no longer the haunt of King George V in his convalescence days... Firstly the hotel's deceptively small on the outside. Once inside, particularly in the dining room, it's HUGE and it leaves you rather... more

The hotel is located in a great position on the cliffs at the north east side of Newquay so it's quiet but easily accessible for the town centre. Lovely building on the outside but rather dated inside. Front facing rooms have a fantastic sea view but as we had a standard room we were at the back so viewing the... more
