There was a group of 19 of us alltogether, ages ranging from 5-70. Everyone had a lovely time & had no complaints. For breakfast there was a choice of porridge, cereal & full english. Evening meals were really tasty & served quite quickly. The entertainment was also good. One of our party even won £100 on the bingo!! Bonus!! Would... more
We booked this hotel for a 3 night stay, drove 600+ plus round trip for the privilage and it cost us £270. On our arrival we were given the keys to a room which is best described as a pit which they called a room, other than Blackpool i have not stayed at a place that looks like a bedsit... more
The 3 star Barrowfield Hotel was acquired by the Daish's Group in September 2007, giving us four quality hotels across the South West of England. The hotel's best assets are its excellent location and friendly and knowledgable staff. There were several issues with poor quality housekeeping but we have addressed this area and now everything is as it should be....
Carpet in room we stayed in was not hoovered during our stay. Bathroom not fresh. Main wall lights did not work-reported to reception 1st day. bulbs replaced but did not work. reported to porter who said he was waiting for electrician who never came for the duration of our stay!. However, food excellent and staff friendly. more
Having read the previous reviews about this hotel we were a little wary and as such booked a suite. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly and the only complaint we had was that one of the remotes to the tv was not working, the staff rectified the problem immediately. The restaurant staff were... more
We were invited to a friend's wedding at the barrowfield and decided to stay. All the satff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean and well maintained, in fact the whole building looked clean and looked after, the food was of exelent quality, hot and plenty of it. Bar prices about the same as a... more
I didn't stay here, but we ate here for our valentines night out last night. I am complaining to the hotel (and to the Trading Standards), but here's a quick rundown of why we weren't happy....and why I advise against eating in their restaurant: We booked the restaurant because of an ad they placed in a local paper. They printed... more
Stayed at the Barrowfield Hotel in Newquay for a family wedding. Wasn't expecting much from it, and it was just as well really! We stayed in room number 1 and I must admit I think we had the best room in the whole place. There were many more family members staying at the hotel and several of them came to... more
Welcomed by a very friendly and informative receptionist. Considering I went out of season in late September the quality of room was very poor. We were given a room on the second floor right next to the claustraphobic lift and could here the noisy lift going up and down. View was non existant, looked out onto other hotel bedrooms, mind... more
My wife and I travel to newquay 3 to 4 times each year on business and pleasure over a period covering many years. During our visits, we have stayed in most of the ' all year round ' hotels and found this hotel to be one of most modern out of Newquay's aging population of holiday hotels. The food is... more
