We have just returned from two 2 night stays either side of a week in the glorious Isles of Scilly. We booked this Guest House because of location and were pleased. It is off the main road with a good sea view and has plenty of parking. Penzance is OK but not the most picturesque place in Cornwall. Handy for... more

Stayed with other family members June 2009: two rooms which were comfy, very clean and with nice touches/attention to detail that made the stay that bit more enjoyable. Cracking, plentiful and varied breakfasts & very good service. A nice location by the bay and only a modest walk into town though plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Took... more

I sent several requests to enquire about rooms in various parts in the UK where I intedended to stay in late June. The next day I went on a 4-day hiking trip to Slovakia where I had no Internet access, and I did not bring with me the phone numbers of all hotels- all I had was a blackberry where... more

My husband and I spent two nights here to escape the big City, and it was exactly what we were looking for. The location was excellent, just moments to the sea, as well as the historic Chapel St., and the rooms were excellent. We stayed in a top floor room with a sea view and it was perfect! Spotlessly clean... more

I had the pleasure of staying at this B & B, owned by Tom & Rita Kruge, the first weekend of July. I've rated it 5-star because of the wonderful attentiveness of the hosts (who are the kind of people you'd want to have as neighbours), the quality of the food and service, and the quality of the rooms. I... more

We have just spent a lovely weekend break at this hotel. All rooms were spotless, with excellent sea views from our bedroom on the front. Would highly recommend this hotel. more

Just back from 4 nights in this spotlessly clean and most comfortable B & B. Front rooms have a clear view to the sea. Ample private parking right in front of the Hotel. The owners are most hospitable and the breakfast is better than to be found in many large Hotels. Fresh Strawberries, cherries and raspberries this week as well... more

We stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms with a sea view and what a delight. A warm welcome, great views and all the things you need including internet access in the room for my laptop. Excellent choice at breakfast and free and safe parking in front of the hotel. more

Nice chintzy decor but the manager claimed I was not allowed to plug my fan (warm weather and the room was hot and airless) into the socket in the room because 'it had not been tested by his engineer'. Begs the questions: what can you plug in?.. and what are the sockets in the room for if not for customers... more

Management response from
Rita & Tom Kruge, Owners

We at the Lombard house take the health and safety of all our guests very seriuosly. To comply with current fire regulations all our electrical equiptment must be tested by an electrical engineer. Unfortuneately customers who bring semi industrial fans on holiday with them, would be requested not to use them in the rooms, as in our opinion they may be...
