We stayed for four nights in the self-catering apartment. It was quiet and cosy, and we enjoyed the hot tub too. Friendly and helpful hosts in a secluded setting, and an ideal centre for touring the area.

We’ve just come back from a wonderful stay at The Dry’s new self catering annexe, just a few miles outside of St Ives. The accommodation is for two people but we took our own blow up bed for our five year old ( no extra charge) This is one of the most spacious self catering places I have stayed in. The kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bathroom ( no bath but lovely shower) are all separate, the kitchen is really big and spacious with plenty of surfaces to prepare food on. We easily put all our emptied food crates and cooler boxes etc on the floor in the corner but still had tonnes of space to move about. Bigger than our kitchen at home! The accommodation was homely, spotlessly clean and tidy. The lovely Brenda and Malcolm provided a pack of cookies and a multi pack of cereals for breakfast if we needed it which I thought was a nice touch. They also provide tea, coffee and sugar too. Next door they have a b&b which they’ve had for years, this shows with their attention to detail. They were so incredibly helpful and the perfect hosts! What’s in there: helpfully there is a table top cooker/oven which I’d never seen before but it cooked our food perfectly and much more quickly than our oven at home. Appliances are brand new which was nice too. There are plenty of utensils/pans in the cupboards and also incredibly helpfully a small table top freezer which was great for putting ice blocks in and ice creams etc – it’s not massive but helps when trying to take food out for the day! Bin bags/washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, tin foil etc are all provided which meant we didn’t have that extra expense whilst there and didn’t mean packing everything from home! They also provide an ironing board, iron, brushes to sweep the wooden floor and a hairdryer They also had olive oil/salt & pepper etc so no need to bring that stuff either. The bathroom is supplied with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel too which was perfect as I’d forgotten mine. The bed was extremely comfortable ( one of those electric type ones that moves!) and the recliner sofa in the living area was a big hit too. The location is great, it’s very rural and quiet ( not very far from a lovely pub, we didn’t eat there but they serve food) walkable over the fields or a very short drive. We visited during this lovely heatwave but the space inside was cool and airy, a real bonus. There is a small outside area with table and chairs with lovely views of the garden and hills beyond. St Ives is a drive away, only about 10 minutes and further on there are some wonderful beaches which Brenda & Malcolm recommended. For the price we paid this was an absolute bargain, would highly recommend a visit here. Oh and you get to have use of the hot tub too! A really wonderful trip with lovely hosts which made our stay perfect. We can’t wait to come and visit again soon.

Positive: - Great host Brenda, very welcoming and helpful - Nice & cosy room and living room (feels like at home) - The hot tub in the garden was definitely a great surprise because we didn't know about it before arriving. We really enjoyed it ! - Good breakfast with good choice of food and it was really well cooked - Everything was clean and tidy, no issues to report Negative: - Just a slight negative point about the location, we didn't find the property straight away even with a GPS, we had to drive around for a few minutes. Maybe it's worth putting a bigger sign on the road to indicate better the location of the property.

Loved our stay at the dry b&b. Brenda was so warm and welcoming, making sure all our needs were met. The rooms were very clean and we were cooked an amazing breakfast each morning. Free wifi and parking, hot tub in the garden for fun summer nights and only 10 mins to St Ives! Perfect place for summer holiday!

In one word just perfect! Very friendly welcome from a very friendly couple. Felt just like coming home. Great room, fantastic cooked breakfast with decent coffee. Great location as well, close to St. Ives. And certainly loved the outdoor hot tub/jacuzzi. This is what bed and breakfast is meant to be!

The location was fantastic set in beautiful surroundings in the middle of nowhere yet 2 miles from St. Ives. Better than expected felt almost like a cottage minus a kitchen but a full breakfast cooked each day. Very friendly and welcoming host felt so relaxed here. Definitely recommend or for bigger families use the cottage next door with hot tub which we kindly got to use one night. Brenda work extremely hard to meet all needs and we really enjoyed our stay.

After searching for ages to find a reasonably priced comfortable B & B we settled on The Dry. We were delighted with the size of the room and bathroom facilities in the guest wing of the house. Very quiet setting complete with a conservatory containing the guest spa pool and dining table for breakfast. The breakfast was fantastic, fresh fruit salad then all the expected english breakfast trimmings, lots to eat and cooked to perfection by our wonderful host Brenda. The location was good although you do need to take note of the instructions on how to get there, within easy reach to all the lower Cornwall attractions and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist areas. We stayed for 2 nights while on a 14 day road trip.

We used The Dry as a base to go to St. Ives for a few days in September. Whilst its location and postcode indicates a Penzance address, you can get to St. Ives in 10 minutes by car. Brenda (the owner) produces an exceptional breakfast every morning, with slight tasty variations day to day. The accommodation itself is comfortable, with each living space having its own small seating area, and the bathroom in the “Twin” room is very well appointed. Our only regret is that we didn’t get time to use the hot tub before we left.
