Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

1 very very disappointing booked a double but got two singles pushed together. Zip was broken impossible to sleep. Bathroom mould on walls l was kept awake with the gutter dripping water onto the metal sheet on the porch a cracked window No information in the bedroom about breakfast, time served or anything, and no information about the fact how to get into the hotel when the door was locked Breakfast was nothing like the pictures I was told it was cooked to order but hash brown dried out ,sausages dry and overcooked. Bacon burnt beyond recognition Eggs scrambled, but with no seasoning, the toaster Took about four minutes to brown the toast Although very nicely decorated, the blackout blinds do not cover the window and let in light I have stayed in this hotel on numerous occasions when it was the Beechfield It was five star service and food all the way, however, I should not be returning to the beach club to pay premium prices

Property's Favourite Review
Our engineers have worked at the Hotel in June and since last year the new owners have made it into the nicest, most comfy hotel in the area by far. The restaurant area and lounge are nicely decorated and we visited all rooms in the hotel whilst carrying out necessary electronic work and each room is immaculate

Given a table for 7 next to the kitchen. The very tall waiter was so polite and helpful and made us feel very welcome. On our request he found some Christmas music for us to listen to. He took our order and kept on top of our drink requests. The food was excellent and the soup and salad starter was surprising but very nice. The kitchen staff were friendly and we could see the kitchen area was spotless. A very industrious team. Good prices too and nicely decorated surroundings. A relaxed and fun evening, would thoroughly recommend.

We booked a ‘large panoramic sea view room’, we were given a side room which looked into the Thai restaurant next door, and they looked into our room, we looked out across the roundabout along the promenade and all the traffic, we had side view to the sea if we walked up to the window. It was a massive disappointment, staff apologised but didn’t offer a solution. It was s celebration weekend that was totally ruined. We kept one curtain closed the whole time for privacy! To add to the misery they didn’t even have any brsndy behind the bar😢

We stayed two nights, on our way to and from the Isles of Scilly and had a very positive experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, good breakfast and lots of nice and thoughtful touches, such as Prosecco on arrival and a generous helping of snacks in the room.

My wife wanted a special lunch with friends as a celebration Booked 2 days ago asked if cocktails are served which we were assured would be fine also booked a table with sea view. As we are a good few miles away had to arrange transport. On arrival no-one on reception and the only person around was someone cleaning the carpets who went to find a member of staff. After quite a few minutes a member of staff arrived and after several minutes found our booking in the diary. We were then informed the only lunch was soup and sandwiches. This was not acceptable as it was a special occasion. All we were told is sorry but we can accommodate you for an evening meal!! No alternative was offered one lady is partially sighted and two with walking diffculties. Luckily managed to walk to the Navy Inn alas no cocktails but a fabulous lunch.

The hotel was lovely and staff were quite hospitable. Our seaside view was amazing. Seeing St Michael’s Mount from the room was a real plus. Breakfast is operated by a third party but conveniently located in the ground level. Excellent choices for breakfast and a reasonable price. Parking is available in a garage for an additional cost. If using an EV vehicle you will need to reserve a specific space. Limited total space in the garage. Comfortable room and charming decor. However the superior seaside double room is very small. Only space to place one piece of luggage with out moving chairs. Small bathroom as well. No lift so bear in mind. I would book again but definitely would upgrade to the larger sea view room for some elbow room. Great restaurants in walking distance as well

We had lunch in restaurant. Very clean. Food was nicely presented & very tasty. Very friendly member of staff who seemed to be the only person taking orders & bringing out the food & clearing up but it was all done with a smile.

Popped in here for a late lunch, as it looked like a nice alternative to a pub lunch. Unfortunately the service was painfully slow, even though they weren’t busy at all. There was only one waiter doing everything, I guess they are understaffed. At one point we were going to get up and leave and just leave the money for the drinks that we finally got (after the waiter forgetting half the order!) but didn’t want to be rude. The food was good when it arrived but unfortunately the long wait and lack of service really ruined the experience for us. Would not return

Popped in for a bite to eat after seeing the place had been redone since our last visit to Penzance. It’s gorgeously decorated! Crepes & coffee were lovely and reasonable priced. Our waiter was friendly, but the service was a little slow and it wasn’t very busy!
