In a rather chilly "Spring" we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. Port Isaac is quiet at this time . The staff were helpful and the room quite adeqate with an outlook over the small harbour. The evening meal was very good with seared scollops to die for and yummy treacle pudding. A nice Australian red wine also went... More

A warm hearted welcome created us on a thoroughly wet and blustery March weekend. We stayed in Art for 2 nights and found that although initially cold our room soon became a cosy home from home. Set in the eaves of the school house with plenty of room, it's own independent entrance meant that we could come & go without... More

I did write a rewiew in January but it seems to have gone under the restaurant section. We visited this hotel for two nights late December and stayed in Biology, first impressions of the outside of the hotel were not good, peeling paint and generally a bit scruffy as was the entrance round the back to the rooms. Biology is... More

After spending the previous night at the wonderful Trenython Manor Hotel and Spa, Fowey, this really was a bit of a let down, Our first room which was the French room was very small, so we paid over the top I think to eventually have the English room, Sam the young lady was very patient with me as I traped... Spend a night here after seeing the hotel several years ago when passing through Port Isaac. Decided to take advantage of a business trip to the area to enjoy Port Isaac. The hotel is on the cliff overlooking the harbour in a prime spot, where you can see the activity on the beach, hear the waves, and a very short... More

We stayed in Biology and had a lovely visit. Not necessarily luxurious, but very pleasant. Visited Lands End and walked the bluffs. Always had parking, which was tight. Breakfast and one lovely dinner there.

I stayed one night in The Religious Study Room; it was tiny but cozy. Good shower and plenty of hot water. The sounds of the tide spashing against the bluff below was very relaxing, the drafty window was not so pleasant; closing the curtains really helped. The staff was friendly and really made me feel welcome, even bringing a extra... More

Super staff...lovely evening meals(not cheap) but breakfast disappointing. Port Isaac in December is prob not the best. Very little open and looked a tad scruffy. I am sure it's lovely in the sunshine. Hotel ok...£120 for the English room was a tad expensive. We both felt "ripped off". we are well travelled so say that reluctantly. Property looks a bit... Perfectly pleasant stay (in the room 'Biology'). Dinner fine and also a few places to eat out a minute or two walk away. We don't mind complicated parking arrangements or hill starts. Staff were friendly. Took the bus one day to Tintagel Castle (leaves from just a few mins from the hotel, bus schedule in room - it looked like... More

As avid watchers of Doc Martin, my friend and I stayed in Port Isaac for 4 days. What a jewel the Old School is (where Louisa teaches- in Doc Martin). The staff was grand, kind, lively and so very hospitable. We were fortunate to have a room overlooking the inlet and were woken in the am by the excited sea-gulls.... More
