Stayed at the St Ives Bay Hotel after booking self drive with Shearings. On arrival the hotel seemed a little dated but the receptionist was superb. She couldn't have been more helpful. The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to make us feel at home. I have nothing but praise for all of the staff, even the housekeeper helped us out with suggestions for sightseeing. The food was lovely with a choice to suit every taste.

The only downfall for us was that it was full of older pensioners and being young sixties we felt the need to go out at night. Saying that Ruth, the entertainments girl was brilliant and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

The views were spectacular and we enjoyed a walk along the coast road to Carbis Bay and returned the short journey by train, St Ives itself is a wonderful little town and my husband and friends were well impressed with it. This place suits every age group!
