Our booking was made on our behalf by a local friend. In the days prior to our arrival we attempted to contact the Tamarisk to establish our arrival time and confirm the booking. The 'phone was only ever answered by a voice mailbox which was too full to leave a message. Our local friend visited the Tamarisk and requested they 'phone us. The "lady proprietor" 'phoned but was less than helpful. On our arrival the establishment was in darkness and there was no answer to attempts to attract attention. We eventually found a mobile number in a window which on calling was answered by a man who introduced himself as "Mr xxx the owner". Eventually a polite young man turned up to let us in. The room was sub=standard. An awful bed, a TV that didn't work, no towel rails and fittings falling off the shower walls.
