After driving 2,600 miles around the UK in a hire car, we arrived in St Ives looking for a B&B / hotel to slow down and relax for 3-4 nights. Luck was on our side because we stopped in front of the Beechwood Hotel. Thought we would stay 2 nights only but extended the stay. Other guests had also extended visits. This hotel is a gem. A small Costcutter supermarket is 1 min walk away and a huge Tesco Super Store is 3 mins drive, nearer St Ives. It is located on the entrance to St Ives but in a quieter part of town. Plenty of parking. The breakfasts are a la carte (choose what you want!). Our ensuite was more spacious than normal. Highly recommended. Proprietor was very helpful in recommending worthwhile sights to visit. more
