Stayed here for three nights half board. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and helpfull and the food though certainly not gourmet was perfectly acceptable although some might think the portions were small. We had to share a table with another couple, not a problem to us but some people might not like it. Our room had a (side) view of the harbour but had a pub close by which could get noisy. The room appeared freshly decorated, was a reasonable size but the bed was quite hard. Also the ensuite shower room had a very small shower cubicle, I am average size but I kept banging my elbows, anyone taller or bigger would have trouble using it. Would stay there again just because of the location. The ferry trips to Truro and Falmouth and other places nearby are worth doing. The hotel does not have parking but we were able to park close by at a cost of £14 for three days. more

The hotel is located directly opposite the small harbour with great views over the river and out to sea. No car parking but in May it was no problem parking on the harbour (ask in hotel about special period parking rates and take lots of coins to feed the meter in the car park).

This is a Shearings hotel so food and entertainment to usual Shearings reasonable standard - waiters / waitresses very pleasant in restaurant that also overlooks the harbour.

It is possible to book (and pay extra for) "sea facing" rooms but beware that there only a few true sea facing rooms - the others are in fact what most would call side-sea view with some obstructions and some noise from pub on one side of the hotel. Some rooms have apparently been refurbished but others are really quite in need of a makeover and a bit small.

However, all in all, a lovely location helps make up for the shortcomings and it was not 5 star pricing!!
