We have just returned from a 3 night stay here. What a wonderful place! Steve, Jo, Gus and Hobson (their lovely Labradors) are such wonderful hosts. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, the bathrooms are fantastic! Jo and Steve are always on hand ready to answer any questions or just to have a chat, they really make you feel... More

Just spent a great weekend at the Gilpin Mill. There is not much more to add if you have read the other reviews. The hosts Jo and Steve were fabulous and we did not feel like we were staying in a B&B but more like we were part of their home. The rooms are beautiful and we both had a... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Jo and Steve were very welcoming and attentive. Gilpin Mill is a charming property very well furnished and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is thoroughly enjoyable with good quality provisions and Jo cooks an extremely cook "full english". There are chickens in the garden, fish in the pond and two very friendly black labs whom we saw... More

My wife and I visiited both the lake district and this b&b for the first time; and, this was an excellent introduction to both the lake district countryside and the b&b experience in the UK. Jo and Steve are a lovely couple and were very accomodating. Gilpin Mil is a perfect base from which to explore what the region has... More

As a start to our honeymoon, we couldn't have dreamt of a better place. The rooms were very modern and confortable. Jo and Steve are the nicest people we've ever met in this type of accomodation! very helpfull and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely every morning and the house is very well situated. All the best spots of lake district are... More

We revisted this hotel, this July having been last November, to see the lakes in a different season - Still Breathtakingly beautiful! I also invited my inlaws to join us in staying at Gilpin Mill having had a wonderfully spoilt on my previous visit. Consistantly exceptional is all i can say! Once again we were spoilt rotten and our every... More

My girlfriend and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at Gilpin Mill and loved it so much we nearly stayed a third! The owners couldn't have been nicer and have two lively black Labradors. The rooms are very nicely presented with tv and DVD players and the bathroom was stunning. My personal highlight was the breakfast especially... More

Gilpin Mill was the highlight of our trip to England. From the moment we arrived, Jo and Steve welcomed us to their home. Jo brought out tea and biscuits to the garden, where we enjoyed talking to her. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous with spa-like bathrooms. The beds are cozy and inviting! We slept like babies every night! Tea service... More
