Have just returned from a relaxing break in Dartmouth. My partner and were really suprised that the hotel would allow us to bring along Scruffy to enjoy the beautiful Devonshire countryside, (and even supplied him his own dog bed!) I was amazed to see one of the reviews was negative and felt I really should correct this misleading information. We have stayed at "the "Royal Castle" many times and always been more than happy. The location is perfect, in the centre of Dartmouth in a very pictureque square with great views over the river and a park just opposite.... more

We have stayed here a few times and the staff have always been consistently excellent as has the atmosphere and the food.....the view if you get one of the front rooms cannot be beaten...have a bath or jacuzzi with the door open and look at that view across the room and out the window...it doesn't get better than that in... more
