We stayed here for one night and had the Six course taster menu at Michael Caines restaurant. Everything from the lovely room overlooking the Cathederal to the Champagne bar for great cocktails. Not to mention the restaurant, what a menu! Having to go to Exeter regularly to visit family we have stayed at all the hotels. This is the best,... More

I first stayed here a couple of years ago on business and was so impressed I wanted to come back to Exeter with my wife. Now she knows why I've been raving about it ever since! Rooms at Abode hotels are in 4 categories and whilst the basic ('Comfortable') rooms are better than in most hotels of a similar price... More

We stayed for 3 nights with our 1 year old, we had a good size room which was spotless clean, fab view of the cathedral. Bed was really comfortable. The staff were so helpful for our entire stay could not do enough for us, they were really polite and friendly. Hotel is very centrally located. Overall would highly recommend this... More

My wife took advantage of a £99 Spring deal which included dinner, bed & breakfast for the two of us. The room was fine; large enough with a big comfortable bed. The two course dinner was fantastic and we paid the supplement for an equally enjoyable pud. We would recommend it!

Receptionists couldn't find a standard room big enough for an 'extra' child's bed. . . so they upgraded us to a room with SPECTACULAR VIEWS of the cathedral. WOW! Everything was brill. 1 minute from great shopping centre. 10 mins walk to great riverside area. Had evening meal next to the river. Fab moules marinade. Good as in France. Wow!!!... More

Location is superb...........and that is really the only truly positive comment. Receptionists(and there were a few!) varied in their competence and thus much confusion. We booked a breakfast deal on arrival(free for kids) which waitress argued about at breakfast table. Embarrassing in the extreme.Went to see another receptionist to rectify situation who was more interested in who had registered us........... I... More

The hotel itself is lovely and well-located. However, my room was microscropic, the shower was filled with the previous guest's hair, and my duvet cover still had stickers on it from the manufacturer (i.e., never washed, just purchased and placed directly on the bed). Given the price, they could have done better. I also did not appreciate being asked if... More

For our second visit to this hotel we thought we would upgrade to a 'desirable 'room, as the blurb said the devil is in the detail so we were expecting something a bit special for our anniversary. What a disappointment!! There was a bath tucked in the corner of the room, screened off with no view or space to speak... More

Staff at the hotel were nice. Standard room was fine, if a bit on the small size. Room service was nice and prompt. Bed was comfortable, however I didn't manage to get a full nights sleep due to folk in, what I believe to be, the side alley talking very loudly with some dogs... On the plus side, breakfast was... Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay, from time to time due to our city centre location we do have people walk past the property making noise, we do work closely with the council and Devon police and can say that we have seen a significant reduction in this over recent years. I am delighted... More

I read some mixed reviews on Tripadvisor and decided to go ahead and book this for a romantic one night stay with my boyfriend. I had upgraded to the Desirable room hoping it would be a bit larger. I did request a view of the Cathedral. Upon check in there was only on person at the reception and though friendly... More
