Stayed one night whilst down for football. Room clean but in need of updating. Shower comfortable once got temperature correct. Staff friendly. Excellent bar with good choice of real ales. I stayed here in Jan 2007 after I wound up in Exeter for the night. The rooms were quite cosy and there is a certain old fashioned feel about the place. I asked if they had internet and they offered me use of their laptop! Very friendly service and great brekky. more

I was very glad to stay in The Great Western hotel again ! Lots of changes since my last visit, the rooms are being refurbished one by one, and skillfully retain their glorious "Age of Steam" character. I stayed at this hotel in january 09. Its arfull . Terribly overpriced. Dated ,shabby and run down . The best thing was the breakfast, but that was only 4 out of 10 for that! Go there at your peril!!! Signed - UK business man. more
