Stayed in this hotel a few nights ago. The reception we received was cold and unwelcoming. The room was small, interior rather poor and the bath did not even have a proper bathtub, all for a price of £82 per night. The waitress at breakfast was the rudest waiter/waitress we have ever come across and practically screamed at us before... more

We are frequent visitors to Lynmouth and had previously stayed at The Tors (opposite in picture). We were not impressed by our last visit there and so looked for something different. A trawl of the Internet found us The Lynton Cottage. Our 4 night visit in July exceeded all expectations. The service was warm and friendly. The food and wine... more

We stayed for 3 nights on a DB&B basis in Room 2. It was very spaciious and comfortably furnished with two easy chairs looking over the sea. What a view! Food was excellent as usual and continue to exceed it star rating. We have stayed here for a number of years and one of the main reasons we keep coming... more

WOW! You guys are finally on tripadvisor! We have stayed here so many times over the last few years, we enjoy the place so much that we would have bought it, had not Allan the Chef beat us to it!!! Of all our happy memories over the years, Lynton Cottage figures so highly. We've stayed in almost all the rooms... more

Was a bit nervous about choosing a hotel for this holiday, as I'd picked a real disaster last time. Needn't have worried! Very welcoming, relaxed but efficient in lovely old building. Huge bedroom with comfortable carved 4-poster, well appointed bathroom; sea view to die for. Food superb - unexpected in such an out-of-the-way spot. Ample for all but the greediest.... more

Recently visited this hotel. Was quoted £68 per night bed, breakfast and evening meal - when bill came had actually been charged £75 per night! The room was tiny and very cold, and the food - well if you want to pay £26.50 for a three course meal with coffee, and come away hungry because the plates are huge but... more

Lovely hotel with a great view once you have braved driving up the hairpin bends from Lynmouth to Lynton. The room was spacious and clean and the area is lovely with walks along the cliff to see the wild goats scrambling up and down the steep rocks. Only complaint is that over breakfast the waitress was really unhelpful and when... more

The final roads to Lynton made for a slow but scenic journey, requiring a good deal of concentration on the 1 in 4 gradients! The effort was rewarded, however, with a hotel in a truly stunning location. When this hotel says “seaview”, they really mean it! The welcome was warm and friendly and the rooms very comfortable, with character reflecting... more
