The Novotel is currently being refurbished (according to the letter given to me when I checked in). Evidence is in the Bar and public area/hotel reception Which is comfortable and spacious. The hotel is rather close a very busy road (A38) and a large roundabout. Noise can be a bit intrusive. The exterior is dated (very much so), parking is... more

I expected the worse at this hotel from other reviews but was pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, the bed and pillows very comfortable and I got what I asked for a quiet, double non-smoking room. I slept like a log while I was there. I even saw a bullfinch in one of the trees in the back garden. Breakfast... more

The novotel is easy to find just off the A38 and can be seen from the road. From the outside the hotel looks a lot larger than it actually is. The reception is bright and spacious and has efficient staff. The rooms are all in a block with four floors. The rooms are extremely spcious with a double bed and... more

I read the reviews of this hotel after I had booked and feared the worst. It was much better than expected. The room was well furnished and clean. The restaurant provided quite an adequate carvery. The staff were unfailingly courteous even though reception was slightly haphazard with their organization. The only drawback was the noise of the speedway track nearby.I would stay here again-ideally situated... more

We stayed in this hotel at the end of a 10 day trip around the UK. Firstly we had requested a twin room and there was a double bed and a divan in the room which I had to sleep on. Also we had requested a non smoking room which we did not get either. The room stunk of stale... more

After reading the reviews i was a little worried by what i was going to find on this trip. But things we not that bad the food was up to standard which is a good thing. The rooms were shabby and need a little attention to bring them up to a modern standard. the hotel was opened in 1982 and... more

I would strongly advise anyone thinking of staying in the Novotel in plymouth to think again. When I opened the door to the room it smelled of urine and on top of that it was dirty and the eletrical fittings were hanging off the walls. When you pay for a budget hotel like this I still expect basic but clean... more

Had a Christmas party there, firstly, the food was dreadful (even the pre-made dessert!). The corridoors are more like hospital ones, you can just imagine the beds being carted through them with injured patients! To be fair, inside the rooms it's not too bad, all the necessary ameneties are there, it just looks all a bit cheap that's all. The... more
