I have stayed at The Astor Hotel on numerous occasions over the past couple of years with family & friends. I highly recommend when you are visiting the City to visit the hotel where you will not be disappointed with the price or the location of the hotel. regards Herbie Hutchinson Black Orchid Concierge Service, Mayfair House, 14-18 Heddon Street,... more

I recently stayed here as a surprise for my partners birthday. On booking i explained it was a 40th birthday surprise and when we arrived i was greeted by the owner a Mr Louie. We were made to feel like we were family members and had a fantastic room, when we entered the room we found a bottle of moet... more

The ratings speak for themselves and we totally concur with comments that the website bears NO relation to reality. On arrival with my family, I thought I had tarrived at he wrong venue - you have no idea how misleading the website is until you arrive.....and enter - at your peril. The reception area is ghastly, the carpets all over... more

We had a most enjoyable weekend here. After reading some of the bad reviews, we wondered if they were about the same hotel. Our room was comfortable, not large but very clean and the bathroom excellent with much better toiletries than the 4* we stayed in a couple of weeks ago. The only thing missing was a bath plug. We... more

WE LOVED IT.....The breakfast was fine-the staff were so friendly and the owner even drove us to town in his car off his own back out of kindness.Parts of the hotel are being done up but we had a great stay- enjoyed the... more

Rather than go through an extensive list of problems that this excuse for a hotel clearly has I can only recommend to those reading this feedback read through previous feedback on this place and draw their own conclusions. Ranging from a TV that didn't work and repeated requests for someone to sort it out falling on deaf ears to a... more

Having been let down by one of the infamous chains through technical problems with their online bookings and no telephone contact available after 8pm, we found ourselves searching for alternatives in Plymouth at a very late hour. We rang the Astor and received a very courteous and personal welcome to stay. We arrived around midnight and nothing was too much... more

How bad is bad?Let me just list a few small issues that bothered me. 1/ On arrival, after a long search the receptionist found our booking, handed over the key& that was it , no help in showing the room, or direct the location of the breakfast room. 2/ light wouldn't work in the children bedroom . 3/ The wardrobe... more

After seeing the pictures on the hotel website we had imagined we were going to be staying in a very stunning hotel. The reality was quite different and for 80 pounds we felt very ripped off as we could have stayed in the nearby travel lodge for 50 pounds and it would have been more luxourious. The toilet brush in... more
