Stayed here with my girlfriend for one night to go to a gig at the Pavillions which is only 300 yards down the road. Really nice large room, which was spotlessly clean, with everything you need. Great service and really nice breakfast in the morning. It was a great value and I would definately stay again. more

We had the family room for 3 people and thought that the amount of hanging space for our clothes was not really sufficient. The double bed was too hard for our liking and was very squeaky whenever someone turned over in the night, so it was not suitable for a light sleeper. The sides of the double were stained which... more

Only 5 minutes by cab from the station, staff were very friendly and the room was perfect for a short stay with tea and coffee making facilities and TV with freeview. On top of this, the full English breakfast was included in the price. Having spent double the nightly rate to stay in the well-known business hotels on several occasions... more

Room dark and uninspiring with view onto backyard. Nothing special. No option for early breakfast to catch morning ferry to France. more

Stayed for one night, lovely room with cracking view of Plymouth lit up at night. Huge comfortable bed, very friendly, really excellent breakfast! If we had to make one negative comment it would be that the shower lacked the necessary vigour! That said we were on the top floor - maybe it's better lower down! We would definately stay here... more

I booked the Jewell Guest House in May for an August stay and paid a large deposit. The reservation was confirmed in June and again in July. To my shock three weeks before we were to arrive the hotel e-mailed that it had cancelled our reservation and it did not provide any explanation, information on refunds or alternative accommodation. The... more

Have now stayed in this B&B twice and have booked again to stay at the end of the year. Good sized rooms which are kept clean plenty of tea, coffee etc. Staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you including extra breakfast. Best not to have the top floor if you have trouble with stairs. Only five minutes walk... more

I travel on business and stay away 3/4 times per month, usually I stay in Travel Inns, which are clean and normally OK. I booked the Jewell as all Travel Inns in Plymouth were booked and I knew roughly were the hotel was. I'm very glad I found this hotel. It's clean, the room (7) was big enough and well... more

I booked the Jewell on the advice of Trip Advisor. Purely on the quality of the room and breakfast, I would rate it higher, but because the hotel is so tiny, the atmosphere played a large role in my experience and it felt uncomfortably chilly from the very start. First, the positives. This is NOT a five star hotel, but... more

Well above averagr small hotel in Plymouth..well a posh B and B really but none the worse for that. so don't go expecting meals other than breakfast or bars or leisure facilities but if you want character rooms, great english breakfast and a homely and handily placed base in Plymouth then look no further. more
