This is a very pleasant 4 * Guest House. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast excellent with a wide choice. The owners/staff are welcoming and helpful. The Mariners has a great location for Plymouth Hoe and the Barbican and is also a great place to stay en route to Cornwall, Devon or even France/Spain via the ferries. A stay... more

We live in France and we traveled in England this July (2009). We stayed one night in this B&B. Family room. Everything was OK, room was really clean, Flat TV with DVD player, in a very quiet street, less than 10 minutes from town center and Marina. Very good breakfast. We really recommend it. more

Friendly welcome, great breakfast and overall thought the place good value. Have to commend them on keeping the place well decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Only negative comment would be that, like many older properties, the walls are quite thin and I could hear guests crashing about in other rooms. more

This B&B is among a string of others on Pier Street, West Hoe which is within 10 mins walk of the cliff top / sea front / lighthouse and even city centre. Last year we stayed next door at The Firs. In comparison, Mariners is another class altogether, cleaner, brighter, more looked after and the owner couple are friendlier and... more

We stayed for three nights. The en-suite room was spotless. The cooked breakfast was speedily served and was well cooked. The nicest thing of all was the flexibility. We could leave our luggage on the last morning whilst we visited the Aquarium. My daughter is vegan and could store her soy milk in the guests' fridge in the dining room.... more

We stayed at this superb guest house for one night only before crossing on the Brittany Ferry. We had a very warm welcome by the owners, Elaine and Steve and our accommodation was suberb. Everything was immaculately clean and layed out in the en-suite double room. The breakfast was great which gave us a good start to the day ahead.... more

We stayed over the christmas holidays and were well looked after by the owners Elaine and Steve. We parked outside the B+B on the street and needed a permit which was supplied by the guest house. Our room was very clean warm and cosy. It was an ensuite double and cost us £48 a night. The house was nicely decorated... more
