We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the De la Mer hotel in Babbacombe. Whilst we may have been the youngest family there we really enjoyed our stay and were made so welcome- The owner Luke and his wife could not have been more friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel is situated in an ideal position for the beach but also for visiting nearby attractions of which there are many. The food was exceptional, fresh local produce, good choice of menu and ample portions- every one was always offered seconds. We would return to this warm, friendly hotel. Try the Angels tearooms where the quality and quantity of the afternoon teas are amazing and Hanbury's fish and chip shop is a must. As is a visit to the model village which was incredible and 'Bygones' museum of times gone by was a good way to spend some time if the weather isn't so good. more
