I stayed here with my Girlfriend and our daughter. We are in our early 30s with a 18 month year old baby. I would say that the sort of people who stay here are older people. We were the only ones with a young child. Everyone else were much older. The hotel itself was a bit stale and needs updating.... more

We were pleasantly surprised to find our room better than the pictures on the website. It had recently been redecorated and had everything we needed and more. The room had a flat screen TV, wireless internet, extremely comfortable bed, large bathroom and as much tea and coffee that you could shake a stick at! The best thing for us was... more

The service was first class: always prompt and efficient, and delivered with enthusiasm - 'can-do' was very much the order of the day. Both Peter and Jackie took a great interest in how we'd got on each day and were very good at suggesting things to do and places to go. The family room was more spacious than expected with... more

Firstly there was nothing that was too much trouble for Peter + Jacky. If you want a faceless chain hotel type of service then you'll be disappointed. My wife and I had a large double room with a 6 foot wide (or whatever the metric equivalent is) bed which was also very comfortable. Fortunately we stayed at the same time... more

Peter and Jackie go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The breakfast is beyond compare in a family hotel; fresh fruit, home made yoghurt, bread and preserves and a lovely hot full English with choices of extras. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. As there was a group of us belonging to CAMRA they even bought... more

We had a fantastic stay at the Glendower. Peter the owner and his wife could not do enough for us. The hotel was in a great location and close to all the great attractions that Torquay offers. We are both pensioners and wanted a few days away in a relaxing environment, good food (fabulous breakfast everyday) and a lovely hotel.... more

Needed to get away from the hustle & bustle of London and this hotel suited the bill perfectly. It's located a short walking distance from Torquay station on quiet leafy street. All the main attractions were also a short walking distance away and my room was very clean and and comfortable with a large single bed and en suite bathroom.... more

My fiancee and I picked this hotel on a whim, remembering the name from Fawlty Towers! From beginning to end, our encounter was our best yet in Torquay, (this was my partner's second visit to the town, my third visit). Calling to book, the owner, Peter, informed us that for an extra £10 we could have a King Size bed.... more

The hotel is lovely and peter and his wife were fantastic even when we lost our key and they waited up for us to walk back (we found it, my boyfriend had left it in a restaurant). The room was clean and had a seperate toilet, and was huge, as was the bed. Breakfast was yummy, fresh yogart and bread... more

I spent a lot of time searching for a hotel in Torquay that was well located and good value for money. After searching on several occasions online and coming back to the Glendower I left a message to seek a couple of rooms. Within the hour I had a return voicemail from Peter (the proprietor) asking to return the call... more
