This hotel is a real gem if you like something that is from the 1970's because that was the last time it was decorated. I did a Shearings coach trip at the begginning of June 2008. The floors do squeak so I advice earplugs. There is a smell around rooms 142-153 so I advice floral spray. Our shower screen had... more

Just come back from four nights in the Trecarn, on arrival it was a bit tatty, but our room was large for the three of us, with a nice bathroom, pillows were very hard but apart from that room acceptable. Food not bad with a reasonable choice. Entertainment very good with a good act every night, on quite early which... more

Very shabby, 1st bedroom drawer missing, broken peg used as light pull above bed, no hair dryers. 2nd bedroom, bathroom tiles dirty, bin not emptied for three days, wallpaper coming off walls, broken handle on drawers. We were there for a whist holiday, room heated by a small oil filled radiator, for refreshment halfway thru game we were offered water!... more

I took a coach trip to this hotel as a Spring Break. It is the rather tatty sort of place that coach companies specialise in, and if you are not expecting too much, it is pretty good value. The worst thing about it is the fact that it used to be two hotels and if you are in one half,... more

My husband and I did an all inclusive short break (4 nights) coach break here last week. In our 50s, we were one of the younger couples but that didn't matter to us at all and the other guest were good fun. As mentioned on quite a few of the other reviews, some of the decor is a bit tatty... more

Myself, my husband and 2 children stayed here (3 and 4 mths) and loved every minute! There are quite a few stairs in the hotel, which may be difficult for disabled users but there is a lift (small one!) to the first floor. We stayed in the family room which was very large and had a spacious en suite. The... more

This hotel although run down is excellant value for money, the food is very good and the staff are also good. The decorations are a bit run down but so are many hotels. more

Just returned from a 5 day all inclusive break at the Trecarn. The hotel was fully booked and everyone I spoke with were of the same opinion, that it had been an excellent value for money break. However I must agree with other reviews which say the decor is in need of attention.Staff were efficient and friendly, rooms clean and food good. but seriously - the hotel needs a lick of paint and the floors creak a lot. The food is reasonable for what you pay and the waiters are very attentive. The rooms are comfortable enough and the beds are made each day. The rooms are clean. What more do you want for what is, after all, a bargain holiday. The... more

please do not be put off by the terrible review by a previous guest. We have just returned from a very enjoyable 5 day break at this hotel. Granted the decor is a little shabby, but it is clean and welcoming. The entertainment was very good and the staff eager to please. more
