We used Totnes as a base for looking around Devon where our ancestors came from. In a wonderful small town and with expert management, this place is a gem. It ticked all the boxes for overseas visitors such as ourselves. Convenient to the river where you can cruise the RIver Dart. Shops, market and castle ruins all nearby. Sigh!

Great hotel recently refurbished, so really well designed, comfortable and welcoming. The best bit though was the fantastic staff, All remarkably civil, welcoming and polite. Consistently nice people from Reception through to bar and restaurant. These things dont happen by accident so well done to the entire team we had a great stay.
