The Award winning Green House is a stylish boutique hotel, nestled in the beautiful East Cliff area of Bournemouth town. Winner of the AA Eco hotel of the year, as well as Considerate Hotel of the year 2013, the Green House lives and breathes sustainability. Home to the 2AA rosette and Michelin Plate, Arbor restaurant. Our commitment to sustainability goes far beyond our menu, it's a deep held belief that runs through everything we do. From sourcing the best quality local and sustainable ingredients to the low energy induction cookers we use in the kitchen, to the FSC timber on the restaurant floor, it is not a commitment we take lightly. You will see a lot of what we've done for yourself, but sometimes it's the things you can't see that make the biggest difference. Winning the Environment award from the Food Made Good awards 2 years running says it all. Don't miss out on our homebaked afternoon tea or experiencing Arbor for yourself.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An excellent small boutique hotel close to the centre of Bournemouth. Our room had a feature bath in the bedroom, but also a separate shower / toilet. TV and coffee making facilities were also in the room. The food was good and our room rate included the set menu.

The hotel as always was very comfortable and friendly. However I now have an allergy to contend with and the restaurant was totally disinterested in finding meals that were suitable. Hence there were no starters to choose from and just one main meal. If you have an allergy this is not the place to stay.

We chose this hotel as we had a virgin voucher for tea for two for Christmas. We were offered a special rate for a two night stay DBB so we took this offer up this included a 40 voucher off the dinner each night pp .we were warned that there was a wedding on our first night stay but this didn't detract in any way our stay our room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated we had one of the smaller cosy rooms which was very spacious it had a lovely walk in shower. The food we had was exceptional we were very spoilt and the tea for 2 was wonderful . All of the staff were very friendly and professional and couldn't do enough for you we left feeling very happy and 2 kilos heavier if your going to bournmouth this is the place to stay easy walking to the wonderful beach and shops we would certainly stay here again thanks so much to all the staff for a wonderful stay

This is the second time of staying at this hotel we stayed here 2 years ago and couldn’t fault it so decided to stay here again ..the only thing that let it down this time was the room was so hot 🥵 I opened the window as far as it could go I landed up having not a good nights sleep kept waking up and in middle of night turnt the radiator off but it was still so warm in the room yes it’s cold and you want it warm but Jesus over hot no iron or ironing board or fridge in the room so water they leave you is warm by time it’s left in room so didn’t drink I’m sure last time we came we had that but we had bigger room so this is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 this time ..the breakfast is still very good and the staff service were all great and the location of the hotel to town centre is literally less than a 5 minute walk perfect ..

From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had made a great decision to book here for a relaxing night away and we were certainly not disappointed. The gentleman on reception who checked us in, exuded natural warmth and made us feel very welcome. The building itself is so well maintained and our room was so cosy, clean and relaxing. Whilst we didn’t take the opportunity to dine there, I don’t think you’d be disappointed in the food that they serve and it was busy on the night we stayed. We availed ourselves of a lovely nightcap in their bar and again the hostess couldn’t have been more welcoming. The massive super king bed and divine linen meant we slept so well and the fabulous shower was superbly revitalising. As for the breakfast it was divine, I availed myself of poached eggs and salmon with beautifully made hollandaise sauce. The fresh fruit was so welcome as were all the lovely, fresh pastries and again the staff made us feel very welcome and the coffee was a fine brew to set us up for the day. This hotel is a fine gem and deserves to thrive, don’t hesitate and search elsewhere, BOOK IT, you’ll thank me 😉 💕🙏

A charming friend invited us to join her for dinner last evening, she was staying in the hotel overnight. Excellent service, an interesting menu and superb food. The restaurant manager Jacob was very professional and we much enjoyed our evening. We visited several years ago and do not know why we had not returned earlier but shall definitely be back again soon.

What a lovely experience our afternoon tea was at this hotel yesterday! The food was delicious and the savouries served were superb. I loved the fact there weren’t the usual sandwiches and thoroughly enjoyed the mini quiche, French bread and brioche instead. I had a veggie option and loved it! The drinks were served in lovely glasses which made the treat all the more special. Nothing was too much trouble for the delightful staff and I will look to visit again when next in Bournemouth. Thank you all so much!

The Green House did an amazing job this weekend hosting our daughters wedding. The staff could not do enough for us and were faultless throughout the day. The food was also top quality. We can’t recommend them highly enough. Thanks to all the team. 👍🥂
