This hotel is badly in need of refurbishment. The decor, although impressive in the public rooms, in the bedrooms and corridors has seen much better days. It is typical early nineties nursing home decor and furniture. I kept waking up thinking I had finally realised my nightmare and had been put away to retire in some institution. My bedroom was... more

Just had one night (14th June 2008) in a double room with balcony. It cost £150, which I think is a bit steep, considering the room was very dated - clean but shabby - and the bathroom tiny. No wonder people do not stay a whole week in a hotel in UK - far too expensive, cheaper to go abroad!... more

Reading reviews today in 2008 brings back all the memories of our stay 14 months ago. The public areas were all scruffy, unkempt and not properly cleaned. We took a bar meal to our bedroom because we could not find a clean table in the bar - this about sums it up. The service was poor in the restaurant and... more

We recently stayed here for a ballroom dance break. Arrival at the hotel is through the car park at the rear, use a critical eye and you will see that maintenance-wise, things don't get any better inside. This hotel is popular with coach parties. There is no problem with the staff wherever they work, they work willingly and pleasantly. The... more

Our recent stay was a very enjoyable experience. We found the food & restaurant service was very good. The room we had was clean & comfortable. When the fire alarm went off in the early hours one morning a pot of tea was forthcoming when I went to investigate. Being a family run hotel the staff were pleasant & efficient.... more

We were booked in for a local conference. The room was filthy, sheets not changed, human hair over the floor, bathroom very poor condition with sewage coming up through the plug hole. Complaints made, sheets changed, hair left, and sewage continued to come up!! Staff member also barged into room twice, one quick knock on the door then she let... more

Although none of us like to receive adverse feedback, we need to know our guests' opinions. The hotel had had a problem with the plumbing while this client was in residence, not something we had previously experienced. It was not sewage in the bath, but when new boilers were installed and tested, water discolouration from some old pipes occurred when...

Good location. From front of hotel five minutes walk down steepish hill to pier, beach, theatre and cinema. Large car park and good public rooms and restaurant. Good staff apart from Reception. On the minus side - Reception staff unfriendly/disinterested, some redecoration required, front of hotel not accessible (steps and no ramp or lift) so for any one wheelchair bound -... more

The Marsham Court Hotel was the setting for the 2007 National Institute of Road Safety Officers annual conference. A fantastic time was had by all - the staff were friendly, helpful and pleasant, the venue comfortable and ideal for the event. Every one of our delegates rated the hotel at 4 or 5 out of 5 for comfort and quality... more

We have just returned from the Marsham Court Hotel. I cannot praise the hotel staff enough, we had a lovely room with views across the bay and dinner each night was excellent. Would highly recommend more
