I booked August Bank Holiday as a treat for new husband and I... check in experience was good, but it went downhill from there. There was a large wedding party and a Golden Wedding anniversary party on Saturday afternoon, leaving almost no staff to deal with non-party going guests. They ran out of breakfast on Sunday morning, and tried to... more

I stayed here for 2 nights and I could not find any fault with this hotel. The location was good in a nice quite area and not too far from the beach via the cable car. We only had breakfast and lunch which were good. My son held his reception in this hotel and I cannot highly recommend this enough.... more

We stayed here for two nights B&B with dinner on the first night included at a special offer rate of £99.50/night. The room was a good size, with reasonably clean ensuite - although decor was a bit dated. Hotel is in a good location - about 10 / 20minutes walk from the centre / pier - but beware that the... more

Stayed here for 3 Nights in the Middle of July, for our 1st wedding anniversary. Had a lovely time. Hotel is grand and in a good location, I think we were the youngest people staying but that was fine as a quiet, good quality hotel was exactly what we wanted. Hotel is quite old but in my opinion it only... more

We stayed for two nights. Michael, a member of the management team was quick to resolve an issue we had on the first night and went that 'extra mile' to make sure we had a superb room with views that couldn't be bettered. His calm and reassuring professionalism was in stark contrast to other members of staff. There seemed to... more

I was booked into the hotel for a conference and whilst the hotel is nice enough, a bog standard 3-4 star I cannot believe how much it cost! It was booked through our works travel agent so i expected that we would pay a bit over the odds but I calculated we were charged £80+ more than the quoted rates... more

We stayed in the hotel for 1 night, the room we booked was a superior double with sea view. Firstly the room, i was really pleased with the room, it was huge and very comfortable, it was also nice and clean. The staff- from the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and the staff could not do enough for... more

My wife and I stayed at this Hotel for three nights on a Twixmas Break. On arrival we found that Central Bookings had booked us in for the 27th January, 2008, but Kelly very quickly and efficiently changed the booking and gave us a room. We were allocated room 225 and we found it to be very large, very clean... more

Oh dear, what's happened to the Carlton? For so long one of Bournemouth's best hotels, its rooms and health club are now looking decidedly down-at-heel, despite pleasant public areas and good restaurant dinners (breakfast is another mater). We stayed there between Christmas and new year. We hadn't stayed for a few years and were disappointed. We moved rooms three times... more
